Profile: living with a disability

My name's Amadeu and I've been deaf since 1998, because I had an accident. When I was younger I had to learn special skills. I'm at school now. Life is a bit different for me often. I have to learn a sign language. I thik that's very difficult. I have a lot of problems communicate with my friends. I can look after myself OK, but I need help with one or two things, such as taking notes at university. I also have a special programme on my computer. It's called a translate-sounds, and translate the sounds into a text. There are some things wich annoy me. If I'm in a restaurant with my riends, I can't talk and I don't participate. Sometimes people laugh at me. BUt usually people want to help me. Amadeu
